The System That Protects the People You Love Most
Structured care, not guesswork. Audit-trailed authority, not vulnerability.
WiseNest's Capacity Grant system gives aging parents, disabled dependents, and estate-handoff situations a trusted steward — with full transparency, built-in disputes, and dignity-first design.
Three Scenarios. One System.
Whether a parent is declining, a dependent has special needs, or an estate handoff is approaching — the Look-After system handles it with care.
When a Parent Can No Longer Manage Alone
An adult child steps in as steward. The parent's plan stays fully visible to them. The steward manages day-to-day reviews, with every action logged to an immutable hash-chain audit trail.
"I didn't want to take over. I wanted to help without anyone feeling like I was taking over."
— Adult daughter, Look-After steward
Five Steps. Full Dignity.
The Capacity Grant process is transparent, documented, and reversible at any stage.
Intent
The account holder (or a designated initiator) signals the intent to create a capacity grant. The system records the timestamp and initiating party.
Scope
The steward's access is scoped: read-only, edit-and-propose, or full stewardship. Each tier is documented with explicit permissions.
Acknowledgment
The steward acknowledges their responsibilities, including the duty to act in the subject's interest and not exceed their scope.
Subject Confirmation
Where the subject has capacity, they confirm the arrangement. The SubjectCapacityDisclosure banner appears on every session while an active grant exists.
Active
The grant is live. Every steward action — every edit, proposal, or review — is logged to the immutable audit trail. The subject can raise a dispute at any time.
Every Action. Hash-Chained. Tamper-Evident.
WiseNest records every steward action in an immutable audit log. Each entry is chained to the previous — no one can alter history without detection.
Reviewed annual income sources — no changes
Updated required minimum distribution age to 73
Raised dispute: "I did not approve this change"
Dispute resolved — change reverted by steward acknowledgment
Audit entries are hash-chained and tamper-evident. Dispute resolution is logged independently.
The Subject Always Has a Voice
Any subject with an active Look-After arrangement can raise a dispute or freeze the arrangement at any time — no steward approval required.
One-Tap Dispute
The subject taps Raise a Dispute from their view. The steward is notified immediately and any in-progress changes are held.
Freeze Arrangement
A freeze blocks all steward edits instantly. The arrangement enters read-only status until the dispute is resolved.
Mediated Resolution
Both parties submit their perspective. The documented record is available to attorneys, trustees, or family mediators.
Dignity Is Not Optional
Full Transparency
The subject always sees their own plan — no hidden views, no secret steward-only modes.
Scoped Authority
Steward permissions are explicit and limited to what was granted — nothing more.
Immutable Records
Every action is logged. No one can alter the audit trail without leaving evidence.
Reversibility
Arrangements can be modified or dissolved at any time by the account holder or subject.

Families Who Use Look-After
"Mom could see everything I was doing. She even caught a mistake I made on her RMD age. That's the point."
